We made a Rainbow Cake!

I had been wanting to bake a Rainbow Cake with my kids for some time now. I do love these times we spend together, trying new things.  I was always put off by the sheer amount of effort and time that goes into it and then all the cleaning up afterwards. Anyway I decided that I just had to try at least once. The kids were both very excited mixing the different colours and I have to say I found it exciting too! The whole experience has only further inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things this year.  I want to make life beautiful for myself and others around me.

It’s 2019 already!

I feel like I’ve blinked and it’s 2019.  I started this blog a year ago and do I have much to show for it? No I don’t!. I hardly posted anything last year but I have decided that this year will be the year for my blog to thrive.  I will fill it with beautiful pieces of writing for you all to enjoy.  And that is one of my many New Years resolutions..  Last year was quite an eventful year for me. I discovered many blessings hidden within bad things.  I became more focused and broke many bad habits and started new things.
Last year I also lost my beautiful, precious grandma. She was one of the people that I loved most in this world.  My lovely, amazing grandma had dementia and she had lost her memory years ago but whilst she lay on her deathbed she called out the to people closest to her. I wept when I heard she called my name but I wasn’t there to hear it. But it gave me comfort that somewhere deep within her consciousness she remembered. Her mind may have given up on her but in heart and soul she knew. I have so many memories of her; memories that are stitched within the fabric of time. I can wrap myself in them like a blanket and take comfort from them. May Allah SWT grant her a high place in Paradise and until we meet again Allah Hafiz.
