I remember when I was a child my grandma used to make this Gajar ka halwa in the winter. It is wonderfully soothing to eat this when it’s cold and raining outside. I like to sit in front of the fireplace with a nice cup of tea and some of this Halwa, mmm, heaven
Ingredients
Carrots - 1kg, peeled and grated
Nestle Carnation milk - 1 tin
Butter - 50 kg
Chopped Almonds for garnishing
Method
1) In a heavy based pan gently melt the butter over a low heat
2) Add the grated carrots and allow them to cook
3) Add the Carnation milk and stir until you have a fudge like texture
4) Garnish with some chopped almonds.
It can be served hot or cold.
