Making a Birthday cake

The holidays are in full swing; two weeks have already passed in a flash. I have not posted anything in a while because I have been so busy. The extra cooking, cleaning and trying to keep the kids entertained leaves me in a tired mess at the end of the day. And then I have been getting all creative because I am trying to make a go of setting a gift and party decor company on Instagram with my sister. I think I mentioned it in a previous post when I was in the throes of excitement. But that has gradually worn of  after the realisation dawned that it is not as easy as we would like it to be. It is hard to get recognition without a name. But they do say that persistence is key and we will keep going and hope for the best. Inshallah it will all work out in the end. If anyone even reads this blog please do check it out on Instagram @_inabubble_.And we would be grateful if you could follow us too:)
Anyway today is my son’s birthday. He is twelve today. Instead of a party I decided to bake him a cake. I am not much of a baker although I do like to imagine I am sometimes but I do try when I have the energy to assemble all of the many ingredients required. At first I thought about challenging myself and making it from scratch but I gave in and bought a Betty Crocker mix instead. My cake looks kind of rustic but my son is happy that I made it. And that is all that really matters. Happy Birthday Hamza. May you go on to achieve great things.
